16-year-old Girl Killed after Brother Serves Ice Cream Laced with Poison
Kasaragod: In a shocking incident reported in Balal, Vellarikundu, a 22-year-old youth tried to kill his parents and his 16-year-old sister by serving them homemade ice cream laced with poison. In the incident, his 16-year-old sister died in the hospital, here.
The deceased has been identified as Ann Mary (16) from Balal, Vellarikundu.
According to sources, 22-year-old Albin Benny son of Benny and Bessy, mixed poison in the homemade ice cream to kill his sister and parents. All the three had consumed the homemade ice cream. As soon as they consumed the ice cream, they developed stomach ache and nausea. All the three were shifted to the hospital in Cherupuzha, but Ann died on August 5, without responding to the treatment.
The parents are undergoing treatment, whereas Bessy is admitted to a private hospital in Kannur, and Benny is admitted to the district hospital. The police have conducted the post-mortem of Ann to learn the cause of death. It was later confirmed that Ann had died of poisoning. The police have started their investigations.
The accused Albin was taken into custody, during interrogation he has revealed that he had given them ice cream laced with poison to get the property in his name.
