17 CFAL Students Qualify for Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana

Mangaluru: 17 students studying in Centre for Advanced Learning(CFAL) have qualified in the prestigious Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) Aptitude test and have been selected for the final interview. Students Selected for Interview are: Anish Hebbar-XI Std./I PUC; Shreesha G Bhat-XII Std./II PUC; Ankush Moger-XI Std./I PUC; Navaneesha- XII Std./II PUC; Anoop K. N-XI Std./I PUC; Prathysh P- XII Std./II PUC; Vishnu Bharadwaj- XI Std./I PUC; Sharaj K.- XII Std./II PUC; Rajath Rao-XI Std./I PUC; Suraj S-XII Std./II PUC; Samarth Bhat-XI Std./I PUC; Sourav V-XII Std./II PUC; Shravan Singh Mehra-XI Std./I PUC; Unnathi Nayak-XII Std./II PUC; Shreyas V Pai-XI Std./I PUC; Rashmi Kasangeri-XII Std./II PUC; and Suraj Samaga-XI Std./I PUC

Based on their performance in written examination, students with highest scores are called for the Interview. Students selected after the interview are declared as “Kishore Vaigyani ” and will be eligible for National Level scholarship of Rs. 80,000/- to 1,20,000/- per annum as fellowship if they continue their education in basic sciences.

Besides receiving a scholarship, these students are also entitled to several other benefits- They get direct admission to institutions that specialize in basic sciences like Indian Institute of Science(IISc)Bangalore, Indian Institute of Science Education & Research(IISER) etc.They can attend study camps organized by various scientific institutions and can attend lectures and workshops of renowned scientists. Besides this, an I.D card is provided to them which gives them access to various prestigious laboratories, libraries, research institutes throughout the country.

Fellowship Details: BASIC SCIENCES: During 1st to 3rd years of – B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math. / Integrated M.Sc. /M.S.- Monthly Fellowship- Rs. 5000; Annual Contingency Grant- Rs. 20000; During M. Sc. / 4th to 5th years of Integrated M.Sc. / M.S.-Monthly Fellowship-Rs. 7000, and Annual Contingency Grant- Rs. 28000
