17-year-old College Student Dies of prescribed Drug Overdose in Udupi

Udupi: A 17-year-old college student died after a drug overdose of prescribed allopathic tablets by an Ayurvedic practitioner in Udupi on January 17.

The deceased has been identified as Namratha (17) resident of Prakala.

According to sources, Namratha had approached an Ayurvedic practitioner for problems in her face last week. The Ayurvedic practitioner prescribed allopathic tablets. After consuming the tablets the girl Namratha suffered High fever and was admitted to a private hospital in Manipal.

The doctors there diagnosed the problem as drug overdose, it is said. She breathed her last on Wednesday morning after suffering multiple organ failures as a result of the overdose of medicines.

No Complaint has yet been filed.

What a terrible joke of playing with human life through prescribing highly toxic drugs in overdose without having any knowledge about the dangerous aftermath of drug prescription?

Recently ratified law that the Homepoathic and Ayurvedic Doctors can prescribe Allopathic medicine is a very dangerous licence to play with the fire.
