17-year-old Pradheesh K attempts World Record with Longest Drawing

Udupi: This 17-year-old is concentrating on achieving the goal he has set for himself: an attempt to break the Guinness World Record with the longest drawing by an individual.

Pradheesh K, PU student of Viveka Junior College Kota son of Shyam Prasad and Prasanna Prasad and brother of Prathveesh who is the Gunnies world record holder in the Rubik cub, is making colourful strokes on a roll of chart paper. He targets 1000 meters of continues drawing and expects to consume 30 such rolls in his attempt. Pradheesh K will start his bid for the record on November 7 and looks forward to completing it on November 10 at his college premises Kota.

Pradheesh has chosen Swacch Bharath theme for the drawings. Under the Swacch Bharath theme, he will highlight four issues like the Early India, Today India, Swacch Bharat and Future India. He uses colour pencils, pastels, crayons, and sketch pens. Paints are not allowed since it is a drawing.

With the support of his parents, Pradheesh applied to the Guinness and obtained the permission to make an attempt in the “Longest Drawing by an Individual” category. Pradheesh is attempting to break the previous record of 660.222 meters by Parimalakanth of Tamil Nadu in the Longest Drawing by an Individual.

Under the witness of Ramesh Rao (Well-known artist Udupi), D V Hegde (AEE, PWD Udupi), Gopal Kharvi (Guinness record holder in Swimming), Karje Balakrishna Shetty (Notary Brahmavar), Pradheesh’s drawing will be shot on video and sent to the Guinness office to show the continuity.
Pradheesh K has so far achieved the unique world record, Assist world record and Indian Book of Record for “Most Thread Art Painting in 1 hour”. He drew 59 thread paintings on 28×28 inches drawing sheets in 1 hour. He has won several awards including one international one national and 11 state awards. He was honoured with the Government of Karnataka Balavana Society- state level- “Kalashri”, Bharatiya Lalithakala institute –state level- “Kalachaithra”, Women and children welfare society Udupi – “Asadharana Pratibha”, Makkala Dhwani- Dakshina Kannada Makkala Sahithya Sangama – “Prathibha Puraskar”,“Chatrapuraskar” -Havyaka sabha B’lore, Karnataka Pratibha Ratna – Beladingala Sammelana, Aralu Mallige- Jnanamandara trust, Lions-Udupi “Balaprathibhe”, Yaksharanga-“Balakalavidha”, Apart from this Rotary, JCI and other institutes have also awarded him.

As a speed painter Pradheesh has participated in the ETV/Colors Kannada –“Balaghandarva” in 2nd std, Suvarna channel -Superstar of Karnataka in 4th std and Suvarna channel -Putani Pantru –season 1 – 3rd runner-up in 8th std.

He has given stage performance as a speed painter performed more than 200 programmes in various places like Bengaluru,Rameshwara, Mangaluru, Udupi, Mysore, Shringeri, Shivamogga, Puttur, Tumkur, Kundapur etc.
