17-Year-Old Student Ends Life After Being Denied Mobile Phone
Udupi: In a heart-wrenching incident, a 17-year-old student, Prathamesh, ended his life by allegedly jumping into a well in Hiriadka here on August 20.
The tragic incident occurred after his parents refused to give him a mobile phone, leading to a heated argument and his subsequent disappearance.
Prathamesh, a resident of the quarters near the Hiriyadka Anjaru Police Station, was a first-year Pre-University student. He had left home on August 19 after a disagreement with his parents, and despite a thorough search by family and friends, his whereabouts remained unknown.
The next morning, Prathamesh’s body was found in the well. The police have registered a case at the Hiriyadka Police Station and are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
