180 Passengers to Reach Bengaluru on June 15 by Second Repatriation Flight
Doha Qatar: Amidst several obstacles posed by the Coronavirus for the movement of stranded people from Qatar to India in particular, another major milestone was achieved by Subramanya Hebbagelu, a common man working for the cause of many Kannadigas.
Subramanya Hebbagelu along with his team approached the Indian Embassy in Qatar, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, Civil Aviation ministry, Chief Minister’s Office, Government of Karnataka, Health ministries and COVID operations offices. Briefing on the cry, pain, agony and suffering of the people to the officers he requested for their wholehearted support to repatriate the stranded Kannadigas to their motherland.
The selfless and dedicated service by Subramanya along with his team, the vice president of ICBF Mahesh Gowda, and President, Karnataka Sangha Qatar Nagesh Rao were able to arrange a dedicated chartered flight to repatriate the stranded Kannadigas in Qatar.
The Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ) in association with other Karnataka based organizations in Qatar with the guidance and cooperation of the ICBF (Indian Community Benevolent Forum) serving under the Aegis of Embassy of India, State of Qatar, the second flight from Doha Qatar to Bengaluru is scheduled to depart from the Hamad International Airport, Doha on June 15.
The second flight will carry around 180 passengers, including six infants. These passengers have confirmed in advance to follow the COVID-19 guidelines and undergo quarantine once they land in Bengaluru. The rules and regulations from the Government of Karnataka and Government of India will apply to all the passengers as agreed before the flight arrangements.
