19-year-old youth Collapses near SSLC Examination Centre, Dies
Vijayapur: A 19-year-old youth died after he collapsed near the SSLC Examination centre here on June 27.
The deceased has been identified as Sagar Chalavadi (19) from Hipparagi, Bagevadi.
According to sources, on June 27, Sagar came to the Vijayapur to drop his sister to the examination centre. As the youth dropped his sister at the centre, the police chased him. During the chase, the teenager collapsed and was immediately rushed to the primary health centre in Hoovina Hipparagi. After administering first aid, he was shifted to the Taluk Hospital in Basavana Bagevadi where he breathed his last.
It is alleged that the youth came to the centre to give a paper to his sister and the police had assaulted him. Parents blame that their son died after the police assaulted him with lathis.
The SP of Vijayapu Anupama Agarwal reached the spot for investigation. A case has been registered in the Basavana Bagevadi police station, and an investigation is on.
The exact cause of death will be revealed only after receiving the post-mortem report.
