19-year-old Youth Stabbed to Death by Cousin

Uppinangady: A 19-year-old youth was stabbed to death by his cousin at Kootelu here on March 3.

The deceased has been identified as Yashwanth (19) from Kallapu.

According to the complainant Monappa, on March 1, at 5:30 pm, his son Yashwanth went to his uncle Poovappa’s house at Kunthur and halted there overnight. On March 2 at 4:00 pm, Yashawanth along with Poovappa, Deekshith and Anand went to Uppinangadi to watch the Kambala.

On March 3 at around 6:15 am, Yashwanth’s father Monappa received a call from the police saying that Yashwanth was stabbed and he has been admitted to the Puttur Government hospital. While Monappa was on his way to the hospital the police again called him and said that Yashwanth was given first aid and shifted to the Government Wenlock hospital in Mangaluru. The police also informed Monappa to go to the Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru.

When Monappa reached the Wenlock hospital at 8:45 am, Yashwanth had succumbed to the stab injuries. Anand had stabbed Yashwanth in the stomach at 5:30 am at Kootelu, Uppinangady in the Kamabala field.

Uppinangady police have registered a case and investigation is on.
