193 Persons Test Positive and 5 Die of COVID-19 in DK
Mangaluru: According to the district health bulletin, 193 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus and 5 persons have died of COVID-19 in Dakshina Kannada district on August 23.
Out of the 193 positive cases, 45 persons had contracted the disease from primary contacts, 8 persons are suffering from Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) 105 persons are suffering from influenza-like illness (ILI) . The health officials are tracing the contacts of 34 others.
Out of the 193 cases tested positive, 130 persons are from Mangaluru, 21 from Bantwal, 6 from Puttur, 19 from Sullia, 8 from Belthangady, and 9 from other districts.
Meanwhile, 164 persons were also discharged from the hospital after complete recovery.
So far 10330 positive cases have been reported in the district and 310 of them have died of the disease. At present, there are 2343 active cases in the district.
