2 transgenders held for assaulting man
Bengaluru: Byatarayanapura police have arrested two transgenders for assaulting a man near Nayandahalli junction on Tuesday night. Police said Lavanya and Kavya, both aged 35, were arrested for assaulting Swamy, 40, who is in a critical condition.
Police said Swamy, a cleaner at the lorry stand in Nayandahalli junction, was on his way back home at around 11.30 pm on Tuesday night when he spotted Lavanya and Kavya standing near the junction.
He approached them and sought sexual favour. He struck a deal and agreed to pay Rs 300 to have sex with both of them, said the police. Police said that after the act, Swamy tried to flee the spot without paying them. The duo, chased and assaulted him with a log and a cricket bat, police said.
Swamy collapsed and was bleeding profusely when passersby alerted the Byatarayanapura police who came to the spot and arrested them. Police then shifted Swamy to a nearby private hospital where he is undergoing treatment. A case has been registered in the Byatarayanapura police station.
