2-year-old child dies after falling into pond

Mundgod: A 2-year-old child died after falling into a pond while playing, near Chigalli, Uttara Kannada, here on January 3.

The deceased has been identified as Manikanta Mahabaleshwaragiri Gosavi (2).

As soon as the boy fell in the pond, locals came to the rescue and lifted the boy out from the pond. The boy was rushed to the hospital but he breathed his last on the way.

A case has been registered in Mundgod police station, Uttara Kannada.
