Nightmares are hounding them and his dear and near every nights as well as days. Two years to trauma, two years of living in hell and confusion, Rohit’s grieving parents are yet to come in terms of the acceptance of the death of their one and only one son, Rohit Radhakrishnan, whose headless body was found in suspicious circumstances on the road side near Tannir Bavi on 23rd morning of March 2014. Hailing from Pathanmthitta district of Kerala, Rohit was one and only son of Dr Sreedevi Radhakrishnan and Advocate M S Radhakrishnan.

Dr Sreedevi R who was a practicing pediatrician working in Bahrain at that time, could not bear the loss of her son, is back home at Kuzhikkala Pathanamthitta, working with a hospital nearby and his father Adv M S Radhakrishnan is trying to bury his sorrows on his profession. But as you know, that is not easy as they are the one who lost their one and only child. Who could help them go get over with their sorrow and grief? The fact is none! All friends and relatives could advise philosophy and may be sympathies on the loss! But the mother and father, who suffered the real loss! How can they be got consoled!?

Speaking to Mangalorean.com over the phone, Er Devraj C Sathyadevan, Maternal uncle of Rohit Radhakrishnan said,”Even after his parents and relatives running from pillar to post and submitting memorandums, complaints to the highest of the authorities in the state and center, justice is still aloof to Rohit Radhakrishnan. There were many eyewash inquiries including by the state CB-CID, they could not even conclude on the cause of death. The culprits are getting away with the passing of the time, where they are getting all the support from the so called machinery’s that are supposed protect the life and punish those who take it. As usual this case also getting under the wraps or being forgotten by the media, executive, legislative as well as the judiciary. None of them get hurt by a mother and father’s lose their one and only son due to some criminal minds and their activity “.

He further said, “The sad part is that, there is no support from any of the so called democratic machinery! In our society what is the value for a human being? What is his rights? Does he have at least right to live. Does the society have the obligation to protect their fellow human beings? These basic human rights are being violated everywhere. In the case of Rohit Radhakrishnan, after discovering the mutilated body on the roadside, the basic action happened from the responsible to cover-up the incident trying to write it off as a freak accident! It was the close relatives with the support of the media made the hue and cry to open the case again and re-look into it! Initially police were trying to close the case declaring and registering case as accident. Later declaring an CB-CID as an eye wash to pacify agitating parents and public”.

What is the result of that inquiry? Where it stands? There was a hard effort from the investigation team to prove that it is an accident. But they never or ever able to answer the questions been raised challenging the observation and conclusions made by the police or investigating team. If something to happen in this world, there should be a reason, explanation and a scientific briefing to justify that incident. If all available inquiries made are not providing a convincing answer for the accident theory, then what should be the conclusion. “Murder”! Nothing other than that. To look for a culprit, first the conclusion should be made on the cause of death. Unfortunately, only effort being made by the investigators are to trying to fabricate evidence to prove that Rohit’s death was due to an accident.

In spite of having all technology backup in investigating crimes, it is a shame that none of the investigating agencies were able to identity the cause of death even after two years from the incident. You may recollect that the headless body of Rohit was found at the ditch along with the road side with his head was laying considerable distance from his body and the motorbike he allegedly riding. Two of his friends who were supposed be with him till the last moment claimed innocence and failed to look for him till next day morning after cleaning and clearing Rohit’s flat where they visited for a get-together. The family had raised many questions. But the investigating team could find only very little answers.

But as per Er Devraj, the most unanswered questions are :

– If it is an accident claimed by the police, how come a clean cut on the neck while hitting on the trees?

– What was the logical explanation on riding the bike on undergarments and missing foot-wares?

– Why the postmortem video is missing from the submitted records of the evidences?

– Why his so called friends didn’t search for missing Rohit for 12 hours and why they destroyed evidences by going back to his place of stay?

There are many…. Many more questions need to be answered. What is the value of life, if a possible homicide is not being investigated and culprits are brought under justice? Only request from never drying tears of Rohit’s parents is :

Justice.. Justice and Justice to the death of their son Rohit Radhakrishnan who was the only reason for their living.
