20-year-old Girl Commits Suicide by Self-immolation
Bantwal: A 20-year-old girl committed suicide by setting herself ablaze at Pavaripalla Moodugrama, Bantwal here on June 25.
The deceased has been identified as Pavithra (20), from Pavaripalla Daddalakadu, Bantwal.
On June 25, Pavithra poured kerosene on herself in the kitchen and set herself on fire. Pavithra had lost her parents when she was small and had been staying with her grandmother Chandravathi and maternal uncle.
It is learnt that Pavithra was suffering from depression. The reason for the extreme step is yet to be ascertained.
The Bantwal Rural police have registered a case and are investigating.
