201 Persons Test Positive and 6 Die of COVID-19 in DK on Aug 24
Mangaluru: According to the district health bulletin, 201 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus and 6 persons have died of COVID-19 in Dakshina Kannada district on August 24.
Out of the 201 positive cases, 49 persons had contracted the disease from primary contacts, 70 persons are suffering from influenza-like illness (ILI), 9 persons are suffering from Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI). The health officials are tracing the contacts of 72 others.
Out of the 201 cases tested positive, 144 persons are from Mangaluru, 22 from Bantwal, 5 from Puttur, 5 from Sullia, 7 from Belthangady, and 18 from other districts.
Meanwhile, 241 persons were also discharged from the hospital and COVID Care Centre after complete recovery.
So far 10531 positive cases have been reported in the district and 316 of them have died of the disease. At present, there are 2287 active cases in the district.
