202 Persons Test Positive and 5 Die of COVID-19 in DK
Mangaluru: According to the district health bulletin, 202 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus and 5 persons have died of COVID-19 in Dakshina Kannada district on August 21.
Out of the 202 positive cases, 81 persons are suffering from influenza-like illness (ILI), 9 persons are suffering from Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) and 41 persons had contracted the disease from primary contacts. The health officials are tracing the contacts of 69 others.
Out of the 202 cases tested positive, 139 persons are from Mangaluru, 35 from Bantwal, 11 from Puttur, 3 from Sullia, 4 from Belthangady, and 10 from other districts.
Meanwhile, 64 persons were also discharged from the hospital after complete recovery.
So far 9914 positive cases have been reported in the district and 301 of them have died of the disease. At present, there are 2420 active cases in the district.
All the 202 persons have been shifted to the designated COVID hospitals for further treatment.
