21-year-old girl killed, 4 Critical in Bus-Tipper collision near Belman
Karkala: A 21-year-old girl was killed and four others were seriously injured in a collision between a bus and a tipper at Jantra near Belman on Saturday, February 23.
The deceased has been identified as Mousika (21), a resident of Neerumarga, Mangaluru.
According to the police, the bus was moving from Belman to Shirva, and the tipper was moving in the opposite direction. At Jantra, the bus collided with the tipper. Mousika, who was traveling in the bus, was injured severely and died on the spot.
The other passengers on the bus were also injured. Four are said to be critical and have been shifted to Manipal hospital for treatment. More than 12 passengers suffered injuries. They have been shifted to various hospitals in Shirva, Ajjarkad Govt Hospital and KMC Hospital Manipal for treatment.
A case has been registered in the Karkala Rural Police Station and investigation is on.
