219 Persons Test Positive For Coronavirus in Udupi Dist on August 11
Udupi: According to the district health bulletin, 219 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus in Udupi on August 11 taking the total number of positive cases in the district to 6503.
Among the 219 new cases, 115 are in Udupi, 68 in Kundapur, 33 in Karkala, and 3 from outside the district.
As many as 58 cases are symptomatic and 161 are asymptomatic. Among them, 140 are male and 79 female out of which 64 have contracted the infection from primary contacts, 39 have ILI symptoms, 2 have SARI symptoms, 112 are under investigation,1 persons have a history of domestic travel and 1 persons have a history of International travel.
The number of active cases in the district has now gone up to 2676. So far, 3768 patients have been discharged from the hospital after complete recovery, and 70 persons have succumbed to COVID-19.
As of now, 1610 throat swab samples are pending for results, 1845 samples were sent for testing on August 11 and 1203 samples were tested negative. So far, a total of 39399 swab samples out of the 47519 have tested negative for the coronavirus.
