22-year-old Anjana’s murder Accused Arrested within 24 hours of Crime
Mangaluru: The accused in the Anjana murder case has been arrested by the police within 24 hours of the crime in Sindagi on June 8.
The arrested has been identified as Sandeep Rathod from Benakotagi Tanda, Sindagi Taluk, Vijayapura District.
On June 7, Anjana had come to meet Sandeep at his rented room in Attavar but she never returned. She was strangulated and murdered in the room. The incident came to light when the sweepers came to clean the room.
Anjana was an MSc graduate from SDM College Ujire and was the only daughter of Manjunath couple from Tarikere, Chikkamagaluru.
As soon as the murder came to light the police started to search for the accused forming special teams. When the police got the information about the accused, they reached Sindagi and arrested him.
The motive behind the murder is yet to be known.
