22-year-old Girl Found Dead in Attavar, Murder Suspected
Mangaluru: A young girl has been found dead at a house in Attavar here on June 7.
The deceased has been identified as Anjana (22), a native of Tarikere, Chikkamagaluru. She was the student of SDM College Ujire and had recently completed MSc.
According to the house owner Louis, a youth named Sandeep had rented their room through Anjana. On June 2, Sandeep started to stay in the rented room in Attavar. On the same day, Anjana came to the room to spend time with Sandeep and had left in the evening.
On June 7 morning at around 8:00 am Anjana again came to meet Sandeep. At around 4:30 pm, when the cleaners came to clean the house, owner Mrs Louis accompanied them. While they were sweeping the room, one of the sweepers said that a girl was sleeping in the room. Mrs Louis thought that Anjana was tired and was taking rest. But when Mrs Louis checked Anjana closely, she found that Anjana was dead.
The Pandeshwar police were immediately informed by the owner. The Pandeshwar police reached the spot for investigation. Anjana was found to be strangulated by a TV wire with her head forced between the rods of the bed.
After the spot investigation by the police and fingerprint experts, the body was sent to the government hospital for post-mortem.
A case has been registered in the Pandeshwar police station and search is on for the culprit.
