Subrahmanya: The pattern of weather in the district seems to be so unpredictable. As most parts of the district are experiencing scorching heat, reports of flash rain and lightning are being received from limited areas.
A house belonging to Honnappa Gowda, located in Potre of Edamangala village, was hit by sudden lightning last week. The electrical wiring, roofing, tiles and walls have been heavily damaged.
Fortunately for the family members, no one was present when the lightning hit. The loss is estimated at Rs 52,000. They are daily wage-earners and they need to be helped by the government with relief and such other grants.
Local elected representatives have visited the spot to assess the damage.
