229 Persons Test Positive and 7 Die of COVID-19 in DK
Mangaluru: According to the district health bulletin, 229 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus and 7 persons have died of COVID-19 in Dakshina Kannada district on August 12.
Out of the 229 positive cases, 113 persons are suffering from influenza-like illness (ILI), 11 persons are suffering from Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) and 36 persons had contracted the disease from primary contacts. The health officials are tracing the contacts of 69 others.
Out of the 229 cases tested positive, 133 persons are from Mangaluru, 45 from Bantwal, 22 from Puttur, 14 from Belthangady, 5 from Sullia, and 10 from other districts.
Meanwhile, 498 persons were also discharged from the hospital after complete recovery. So far 7825 positive cases have been reported in the district and 244 of them have died of the disease. At present, there are 2349 active cases in the district.
All the 229 persons have been shifted to the designated COVID hospital for further treatment.
