23-year-old DJ Jill commits Suicide at Bendur

Mangaluru: A 23-year-old DJ committed suicide by hanging at his residence at Bendur here on November 9.

The deceased has been identified as Jill Gavin D’Souza (23), son of Jossie and Juliet D’Souza, a resident of Bendur.  Jill was the nephew of noted Konkani musician-composer Claude D’Souza.

According to sources, Jill had spoken to his father at 6:30 pm. When his father came home at 7:30 pm, there was darkness in the house and he did not find anyone inside. But when he went upstairs, he found Jill hanging to the railing of the steps.

It is learnt that before committing suicide he had called his friend who immediately informed his father and asked him to go home soon. But when his father had reached home, everything was over.

A year ago on this day Jill had performed at Hotel Ocean Pearl for a Silver Wedding Anniversary. 

Immediately the Kadri police were informed. Kadri Inspector Maruti and team reached the spot, lowered the body and sent it for post-mortem.
