234 Persons Test Positive and 4 Die of COVID-19 in DK on Aug 19
Mangaluru: According to the district health bulletin, 234 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus and 4 persons have died of COVID-19 in Dakshina Kannada district on August 19.
Out of the 234 positive cases, 104 persons are suffering from influenza-like illness (ILI), 18 persons are suffering from Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) and 35 persons had contracted the disease from primary contacts. The health officials are tracing the contacts of 76 others.
Out of the 234 cases tested positive, 148 persons are from Mangaluru, 29 from Bantwal, 14 from Puttur, 13 from Sullia, and 23 from other districts.
Meanwhile, 115 persons were also discharged from the hospital after complete recovery.
So far 9535 positive cases have been reported in the district and 290 of them have died of the disease. At present, there are 2303 active cases in the district.
All the 234 persons have been shifted to the designated COVID hospitals for further treatment.
