24-year-old Rider killed in hit-and-run on NH66 at Arate Bridge
Kundapur: In a hit-and-run case, a 24-year-old youth was killed after an unidentified vehicle hit his bike at Arate Bridge, NH 66 under the Gangolli Police Station limits on February 19.
The deceased has been identified as Vikyath (24), son of Ganesh a resident of Gangolli. He was working in a hotel in Kundapur.
According to sources, the incident occurred on February 19, at around 00.30 hrs, when Vikyath was on his way home on his motorbike after finishing his work. At Arate bridge a speeding vehicle hit his motorbike and drove off.
A Highway Patrol vehicle which was passing by saw a body lying on the road and stopped the vehicle. The officers from the Patrol Vehicle, immediately informed the Gangolli police and also called Gangolli 24×7 helpline.
The Gangolli police along with the Gangolli 24×7 helpline members arrived to the spot and shifted the body to the hospital for post-mortem.
A case has been registered in the Gangolli Police Station and investigation is on.
