243 Persons Test Positive and 9 Die of COVID-19 in DK
Mangaluru: According to the district health bulletin, 243 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus and 9 persons have died of COVID-19 in Dakshina Kannada district on August 11.
Out of the 243 positive cases, 123 persons are suffering from influenza-like illness (ILI), 9 persons are suffering from Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) and 23 persons had contracted the disease from primary contacts. The health officials are tracing the contacts of 88 others.
Out of the 243 cases tested positive, 189 persons are from Mangaluru, 30 from Bantwal, 10 from Belthangady, 6 from Puttur, 4 from Sullia, and 4 from other districts.
Meanwhile, 519 persons were also discharged from the hospital after complete recovery.
So far 7596 positive cases have been reported in the district and 237 of them have died of the disease. At present, there are 2625 active cases in the district.
All the 243 persons have been shifted to the designated COVID hospital for further treatment.
