245 Persons Test Positive For Coronavirus in Udupi Dist on August 7
Udupi: According to the district health bulletin, 245 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus in Udupi on August 7 taking the total number of positive cases in the district to 5605.
Among the 245 new cases, 125 are in Udupi, 92 in Kundapur, 25 in Karkala, and 3 from outside the district.
As many as 70 cases are symptomatic and 175 are asymptomatic. Among them, 125 are male and 120 female out of which 91 have contracted the infection from primary contacts, 57 have ILI symptoms, 5 have SARI symptoms, 86 are under investigation 5 have domestic travelling and one have international travelling history.
The number of active cases in the district has now gone up to 2292 . So far, 3258 patients have been discharged from the hospital after complete recovery, and 55 persons have succumbed to COVID-19.
As of now, 1203 throat swab samples are pending for results, 1357 samples were sent for testing on August 7 and 1148 samples were tested negative. So far, a total of 34603 swab samples out of the 41411 have tested negative for the coronavirus.
