246 Persons Test Positive and 6 Die of COVID-19 in DK
Mangaluru: According to the district health bulletin, 246 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus and 6 persons have died of COVID-19 in Dakshina Kannada district on August 13.
Out of the 246 positive cases, 103 persons are suffering from influenza-like illness (ILI), 10 persons are suffering from Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) and 36 persons had contracted the disease from primary contacts. The health officials are tracing the contacts of 97 others.
Out of the 229 cases tested positive, 150 persons are from Mangaluru, 47 from Bantwal, 16 from Puttur, 15 from Belthangady, 7 from Sullia, and 11 from other districts.
Meanwhile, 641 persons were also discharged from the hospital after complete recovery.
So far 8071 positive cases have been reported in the district and 250 of them have died of the disease. At present, there are 1948 active cases in the district.
All the 246 persons have been shifted to the designated COVID hospitals for further treatment.
