25-year-old Vinola Falls into Pond, Dies
Moodbidri: A 25-year-old woman died after she fell into a pond at Karikumeru, Tenka Mizar here, on July 3.
The deceased has been identified as Vinola Mendonca (25), daughter of Vincent Mendonca, Karikumeru.
According to the police, on July 3 at around 9:30 am, Vinola had taken her cow for grazing in her areca nut farm. After some time, she thought of moving the cow to another place. Vinola untethered the cow and was holding the tether in her hand. Suddenly, the cow started to run. Vinola did not let go of the tether and was trying to calm the animal down, while doing so, the tether snapped, she lost balance and fell into a pond and died.
The Moodbidri police reached the spot for investigation. Vinola is survived by her father and two sisters.
