25-year-old Youth Commits Suicide at Mulihithlu
Mangaluru: A 25-year-old youth allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the river near the Ice factory at Mulihithlu here on October 24.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Ansar (25), a resident of Malar Pavoor.
At around 2:30 pm, team mangalorean.com received a call saying that a body was floating in the river near the Ice Factory at Mulihithlu. Team Mangalorean immediately passed on the message to the DCP Law and Order and reached the spot.
The DCP Law and Order, Hanumantharaya informed the Pandeshwar police who also reach the spot. After pulling the body to the side and completing the procedures, it was learnt that the body was that of Mohammed Ansar aged 25 from Pavoor.
On further investigations by the police, it was learnt that family members of Mohammed Ansar had just filed a missing person’s complaint in the Kankanady Town Police station. Family members of Mohammed Ansar who were informed rushed to the spot and immediately identified the body.
Speaking to mangalorean.com relative of Mohammed Ansar, President of Mangaluru Taluk Panchayat, Mohammed Monu said, “On October 24, early morning at 3:00 am, Mohammed Ansar had asked his cousin to drop him at Mulihithlu as he had some work there. Ansar also requested his cousin not to inform his family members as he would return home in the evening.”
Mohammed Monu further said, “Ansar was working as a driver but the exact reason behind the extreme step is not yet known.”
The body was shifted to the Government Wenlock Hospital for post-mortem.
