263 Persons Test Positive For Coronavirus in Udupi Dist on August 12
Udupi: According to the district health bulletin, 263 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus in Udupi on August 12 taking the total number of positive cases in the district to 6766.
Among the 263 new cases, 142 are in Udupi, 95 in Kundapur, 23 in Karkala, and 3 from outside the district.
As many as 51 cases are symptomatic and 212 are asymptomatic. Among them, 138 are male and 125 female out of which 97 have contracted the infection from primary contacts, 34 have ILI symptoms, 0 have SARI symptoms, 128 are under investigation,4 persons have a history of domestic travel and 0 persons have a history of International travel.
The number of active cases in the district has now gone up to 2738. So far, 3966 patients have been discharged from the hospital after complete recovery, and 69 persons have succumbed to COVID-19.
As of now, 1745 throat swab samples are pending for results, 1577 samples were sent for testing on August 12 and 1179 samples were tested negative. So far, a total of 40578 swab samples out of the 49096 have tested negative for the coronavirus.
