270 Persons Test Positive and 12 Die of COVID-19 in DK on Aug 31
Mangaluru: According to the district health bulletin, 270 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus and 12 persons have died of COVID-19 in Dakshina Kannada district on August 31.
Out of the 270 positive cases, 64 persons had contracted the disease from primary contacts, 92 persons are suffering from influenza-like illness (ILI), 14 persons are suffering from Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI). The health officials are tracing the contacts of 99 others.
Out of the 270 cases tested positive, 117 persons are from Mangaluru, 90 from Bantwal, 24 from Puttur, 14 from Sullia, 14 from Belthangady and 11 from other districts.
Meanwhile, 367 persons were also discharged from the hospital and COVID Care Centres after complete recovery.
So far 12713 positive cases have been reported in the district and 368 of them have died of the disease. At present, there are 2556 active cases in the district.
