270 Persons Test Positive For Coronavirus in Udupi Dist on August 17
Udupi: According to the district health bulletin, 270 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus in Udupi on August 17 taking the total number of positive cases in the district to 8238.
Among the 270 new cases, 107 are in Udupi, 141 in Kundapur, 15 in Karkala, and 7 from outside the district.
As many as 86 cases are symptomatic and 184 are asymptomatic. Among them, 171 are male and 99 female out of which 114 persons contracted the infection from primary contacts, 62 have ILI symptoms, 10 have SARI symptoms and 83 are under investigation and one person have domestive travel history.
The number of active cases in the district has now gone up to 2537. So far, 5630 patients have been discharged from the hospital after complete recovery, and 78 persons have succumbed to COVID-19.
As of now, 870 throat swab samples are pending for results, 376 samples were sent for testing on August 17 and 520 samples were tested negative. So far, a total of 46624 swab samples out of the 55739 have tested negative for the coronavirus.
