272 Persons Test Positive and 7 Die of COVID-19 in DK on Aug 29
Mangaluru: According to the district health bulletin, 272 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus and 7 persons have died of COVID-19 in Dakshina Kannada district on August 29.
Out of the 272 positive cases, three persons had travelled from the Gulf, 43 persons had contracted the disease from primary contacts, 101 persons are suffering from influenza-like illness (ILI), 15 persons are suffering from Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI). The health officials are tracing the contacts of 110 others.
Out of the 272 cases tested positive, 163 persons are from Mangaluru, 30 from Bantwal, 33 from Puttur, 23 from Sullia, 11 from Belthangady and 12 from other districts.
Meanwhile, 236 persons were also discharged from the hospital and COVID Care Centres after complete recovery.
So far 12109 positive cases have been reported in the district and 350 of them have died of the disease. At present, there are 2550 active cases in the district.
