28-year-old Medical student Commits Suicide Slitting Throat

Mangaluru: A 28-year-old Medical student committed suicide slitting his throat in the Hostel Bathroom at Fr Muller Medical College here on July 31.

The deceased has been identified as Prasad H K (28) from Davanagere. He was a final year student in Fr Muller’s and pursuing MD in pathology.

According to the police, it is suspected that Prasad had committed suicide in between July 29 to July 31. When the family members called Prasad he did not answer the call, they then contacted his friends and informed them of Prasad not answering their call. When Prasad’s friends went to the hostel they found Prasad dead. Immediately they informed the Hostel warden and the police.

It is learnt that Prasad was under treatment for depression. Before committing suicide Prasad had signed a cheque of Rs 4 lakh to his elder brother. A death note was also found in his room.

A case has been registered in the Pandeshwar Police station and investigation is on.
