28-year-old Youth Dies in Road Mishap at Netravati Bridge
Mangaluru: A 28-year-old youth died in a tragic road accident at the Netravati Bridge here on July 11.
The deceased has been identified as Ubaid (28), a resident of Bandikotya, Ullal.
According to sources, Shakir and Ubaid were on their way to Ullal from Mangaluru. As they were riding on the Netravati Bridge, a car hit their two-wheeler, throwing both the riders to the road. A mini truck which was behind the two-wheeler ran over Ubaid killing him on the spot.
Pillion rider Shakir was also severely injured and is admitted to the hospital.
After the accident, the car driver without stopping drove off, the locals chased the car and caught hold of the driver at Thokkottu.
A case has been registered in the Mangaluru South Traffic police station, and an investigation is on.
