282 Persons Test Positive For Coronavirus in Udupi Dist on August 9
Udupi: According to the district health bulletin, 282 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus in Udupi on August 9 taking the total number of positive cases in the district to 6194.
Among the 282 new cases, 152 are in Udupi, 86 in Kundapur, 43 in Karkala, and 1 from outside the district.
As many as 77 cases are symptomatic and 205 are asymptomatic. Among them, 147 are male and 135 female out of which 132 have contracted the infection from primary contacts, 69 have ILI symptoms, 6 have SARI symptoms, 66 are under investigation,6 persons have a history of domestic travel and 3 persons have a history of International travel.
The number of active cases in the district has now gone up to 2697. So far, 3444 patients have been discharged from the hospital after complete recovery, and 60 persons have succumbed to COVID-19.
As of now, 1298 throat swab samples are pending for results, 1383 samples were sent for testing on August 9 and 1343 samples were tested negative. So far, a total of 37325 swab samples out of the 44824 have tested negative for the coronavirus.
