30-year-old Woman Commits Suicide Jumping into Open Well at Kolalgiri
Udupi: A married woman committed suicide by jumping into an open well at Ammunje Kolalgiri on Tuesday, November 7.
The deceased has been identified as Shanthi D’Souza (30) wife of Rony D’Souza resident of Ammunje Kolalgiri.
According to sources, she was suffering from mental illness and was missing since Tuesday morning. The family members searched for her in the nearby houses and decided to file a missing person complaint on Wednesday morning. On Wednesday morning her body was floating in an open well near Ammunje.
The Brahmavar Police lifted the body and sent it for post-mortem. The police suspect that her mental illness might be the reason for her taking the extreme step.
A case has been registered in the Brahmavar Police Station.
