32 Deacons Learn Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) at Father Muller Hospital
Mangaluru: The well established Father Muller Charitable Institution’s, Simulation and Skills center witnessed the yearning of the Deacons of the St. Joseph Inter Diocesan Seminary to help save lives on July 8, 2019.
32 deacons studying at the seminary along with their Rector, Fr Ronald Serrao, visited the campus to learn the life-saving technique of CPR. During the inaugural, Fr Ronald Serrao, who was also the chief guest mentioned to have learned of the training provided in basic life support at the simulation center to people far and wide by the Administrator of the Father Muller Medical College. Fr Ajith Menezes was amazed to have known that a number of short modules were not only held for the medical and paramedical staff but also for the common man on how to save a life when cardiac arrest occurs, an injury or on drowning and also to provide first aid.
The Director, Fr Richard A Coelho of Father Muller Charitable Institutions in his address told the young deacons that the value of Christian faith is not only to save a life in sickness but ensure life to be saved from the womb. The director was very pleased with this initiative taken by the Rector to impart life-saving knowledge to his deacons and appraised him of the advancements at the institution. The Director also mentioned that the Simulation Center and Skill Center was the best in South India, with many Deans of prestigious Medical Colleges and numerous faculty and students of the medical fraternity enhancing their skills and knowledge through the lifelike models and scenarios presented during training.
Moreover, he said that the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, has recognised the center as a center of excellence in imparting education, with ACLS, BLS programmes. The money put in by the institution has borne beautiful fruits through this center and through the hard work of Dr Rithesh and Dr Lulu. To sum up he said that the deacon’s life should be of service and bear fruit through the teachings of Christ. He welcomed them at the institution and to make the best of the facility provided.
