322 Persons Test Positive For Coronavirus in Udupi Dist on August 14
Udupi: According to the district health bulletin, 322 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus in Udupi on August 14 taking the total number of positive cases in the district to 7490.
Among the 322 new cases, 186 are in Udupi, 95 in Kundapur, 36 in Karkala, and 5 from outside the district.
As many as 88 cases are symptomatic and 234 are asymptomatic. Among them, 155 are male and 147 female out of which 110 have contracted the infection from primary contacts, 88 have ILI symptoms, 4 have SARI symptoms, 117 are under investigation and 3 persons have a history of domestic travel .
The number of active cases in the district has now gone up to 2550. So far, 4872 patients have been discharged from the hospital after complete recovery, and 75 persons have succumbed to COVID-19.
As of now, 1640 throat swab samples are pending for results, 2369 samples were sent for testing on August 14 and 2262 samples were tested negative. So far, a total of 44025 swab samples out of the 53162 have tested negative for the coronavirus.
