34-year-old Madrasa Teacher Found dead at Bettampare

Kasargod: A 34-year-old teacher was found dead with his throat slit at his residence at Battampare Halechuri, here on March 21.

The deceased has been identified as Riyaz (34), a native of Madikeri. He was a teacher at Izzatul Islam Ma

According to the police, Riyaz was staying in a room adjacent to his friend Qatib Abdul Aziz’s room at Mosque premises. On March 20 night at around 12:15 am, Abdul Aziz heard a scream from Riyaz’s room.  When Abdul tried to open his room door to help Riyaz, aome miscreants pelted stones to stop Abdul from coming out of his room. Abdul rushed to the mosque from the passage and used the mic to wake up the locals.

Immediately the locals rushed to the spot but the miscreants by then had fled from the spot. Riyaz was found lying in a pool of blood and was rushed to the hospital but he breathed his last.

The body was sent for post-mortem at the Periyaram Medical college.  A case has been registered and investigation is on.
