349 Persons Test Positive For Coronavirus in Udupi Dist on August 20
Udupi: According to the district health bulletin, 349 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus in Udupi on August 20 taking the total number of positive cases in the district to 9383.
Among the 349 new cases, 162 are from Udupi, 100 from Kundapur, 76 from Karkala, and 11 from outside the district.
As many as 159 cases are symptomatic and 190 are asymptomatic. Among them, 192 are male and 157 female out of which 130 persons contracted the infection from primary contacts, 137 have ILI symptoms, 12 have SARI symptoms, 63 are under investigation and 7 persons have domestic travel history.
The number of active cases in the district has now gone up to 2818. So far, 6492 patients have been discharged from the hospital after complete recovery, and 80 persons have succumbed to COVID-19.
As of now, 1093 throat swab samples are pending for results, 2078 samples were sent for testing on August 20 and 1336 samples were tested negative. A total of 50768 swab samples out of the 61251 have tested negative for the coronavirus.
