35-year-old man assaulted in Malpe Dies, Murder suspected
Udupi: A 35-year-old man was killed by unidentified persons near the Vithoba Bhajana Mandir near Malpe Beach on April 27.
The deceased has been identified as Guruvailu (35) a resident of Hyderabad.
According to sources, on April 27th, a person identified as Amit (27) had slept on the rocks laid along the coast in front of Hanuman Vithoba temple near Malpe Kola. Around 12:30 in the night, an unidentified person attacked him with a wooden stick and inflicted grievous injuries to his head and hands. The critically injured Amit was rushed to the hospital where he has been admitted.
A case has been registered against the unidentified person on the charges of attempted murder.
In this backdrop, few persons assaulted Guruvailu who was standing near the Vithoba temple. A complaint has been submitted in the Malpe police station claiming that Guruvailu died because of the assault.
The case has created much curiosity and police are drawing a net to catch those responsible for the crime.
