35-year-old man commits suicide by jumping into river in Udyavar
Udupi: A 35-year-old man committed suicide by jumping into the river from the Udyavar Bridge on Thursday, April 25.
The deceased has been identified as Ashok Ameen (35) a resident of Udyavar. He was an active BJP leader in Udyavar area.
According to the eyewitness, Ashok parked his bike on the Udyavar bridge and jumped into the river. He was reportedly depressed because of financial problems. The locals immediately alerted the Kaup police and started searching for Ashok with the help of Swimmers. His body was later recovered and sent for Post-mortem.
A case has been registered in the Kaup Police Station.
