375 Persons Test Positive For Coronavirus in Udupi Dist on August 19
Udupi: According to the district health bulletin, 375 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus in Udupi on August 19 taking the total number of positive cases in the district to 9034.
Among the 215 new cases, 131 are in Udupi, 141 in Kundapur, 27 in Karkala, and 2 from outside the district.
As many as 99 cases are symptomatic and 276 are asymptomatic. Among them, 195 are male and 190 female out of which 205 persons contracted the infection from primary contacts, 67 have ILI symptoms, 5 have SARI symptoms and 93 are under investigation and 5 person have domestic travel history.
The number of active cases in the district has now gone up to 2831. So far, 6132 patients have been discharged from the hospital after complete recovery, and 78 persons have succumbed to COVID-19.
As of now, 1597 throat swab samples are pending for results, 376 samples were sent for testing on August 9 and 1608 samples were tested negative. So far, a total of 49432 swab samples out of the 59173 have tested negative for the coronavirus.
