38-year-old man Dies after Tempo Overturns in Karkala

38-year-old man Dies after Tempo Overturns in Karkala

Karkala: A mini tempo overturned due to brake failure, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to four others in an incident that took place in the jurisdiction of the Karkala Rural Police Station, at Mala on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Jitender (38) from Maharashtra. All the passengers in the vehicle were fair vendors traveling from the Kalasa fair to the Mandarthi fair when the vehicle overturned near a petrol pump at the Mala Mullur ghat due to brake failure.

Four people were seriously injured, and Jitender, who was in critical condition, succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

Raj (37) from Hubballi, Aditya (20), Babu (55) from Bhadravati, and Shabas (25) were seriously injured. The injured have been admitted to the Karkala Taluk Government Hospital and later transferred to Mangalore Wenlock Hospital for further treatment.

A case has been registered at the Karkala Rural Police Station and further investigation is underway.
