38-year-old Two-wheeler Rider Dies on Spot at Baithurli

Mangaluru: A 38-year-old man died on the spot after an Express bus collided head-on with his two-wheeler near Baithurli here on December 10.

The deceased has been identified as Thimappa (38) from Ulaibettu.

According to sources, the bus was plying from Karkala to Mangaluru, when it reached Baithurli, it collided head on to a two-wheeler killing the rider on the spot. Thimmappa was on his way home after finishing his catering work.

Speaking to mangalorean.com Thimmappa’s brother said, “My brother used to work as a mason and when there was less work he used to do the catering job. Today at around 4:00 pm when he was coming back after finishing the catering work, at Baithurli an express bus bearing registration number KA 19 AB 7895 which was on the way to Mangaluru from Karkala collided with my brother’s two-wheeler killing him on the spot.”

The Traffic South police reached the spot for further investigations.

The body was brought to the SCS hospital and later shifted to the Government Wenlock Hospital for post-mortem.

Thimmappa is survived by wife and two children.
