4 killed, 1 Injured in Horrific Tanker – car Collision in Ankola
Karwar: Four persons died, while one sustained severe injuries after the car in which they were traveling was hit by a speeding truck near Harawada on NH66 in Ankola on Wednesday, February 13 evening.
The deceased has been identified as Ramesh Krishnappa (30), Prabhavati Chikkegowda (30) and Vinay Venkataramanappa (39) and Meena alias Meenakshi (30) all residents of Bengaluru.
The mishap happened when the tanker was overtaking a vehicle, during which it collided into the car coming from the opposite direction. The impact was such that the car was dragged to around 100 meters from the spot of the collision. The collision claimed the lives of four persons, with three killed on the spot and another succumbed in the Karwar hospital.
A girl in the car who is injured was rushed to Karwar district hospital for treatment.
Ankola police rushed to the spot and conducted necessary investigations.
