4 Religious Institutions to celebrate ‘Our Lady of Rosary Feast’ on Oct 4

Mangaluru: Addressing the media persons during a press meet held at Mangalore Press Club, Fr Onil D’souza- Director of St Anthony’s Charitable Institutions said, “The month of October is known as the month of Rosary in the Catholic Church. On the occasion of Rosario Cathedral Church completing 450 years the years 2017-2018 has been dedicated to the devotion of Our Lady of Rosary in the Diocese of Mangaluru.

“In this context St Anthony’s Ashram Jeppu; St Vincent Ferrer Church Valencia; St Joseph Church Jeppu and St Rita Church Cascia will be celebrating the Rosary feast on 4th October, 2108. Most Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza the emeritus Bishop of Mangaluru will preside over the Holy Mass at 5 p.m. at St Vincent Ferrer Church. This will be followed by a procession to St Anthony’s Ashram Jeppu. Bhaskara Moily, the Mayor of the Mangaluru City Corporation will flag off the procession” added Fr Onil.

He further said, “The devotion of Rosary will be observed during the procession by reciting and singing the Rosary. A decorated statue of Mother Mary along with tableau depicting the different apparitions of Mother Mary will add beauty and devotion to the procession. At the end of the procession at the Jeppu Ashram there will be a preaching highlighting the importance of family prayer. Besides this various Associations will sing hymns in honour of Mother Mary. Thousands of people are expected to participate in the programme. The Religious Institutions like Prashanth Nivas, Holy Rosary Convent, Gerosa Convent, Roshani Nilaya, Chesire Home will be collaborating in this devotion promoting programme”.

Fr James D’Souza-Parish Priest of Valencia Church, and Stanly ‘Bantwal’ D’çunha- media coordinator were present during the press meet.
