He was speaking at a press meet held at the district BJP office Kadiyali on Friday, October 13.

Addressing the mediapersons Mattar Rathnakar Hegde said, “When Jayaprakash Hegde joined the BJP, the party has decided to organise the Parivarthana Samavesha in Udupi to welcome his followers. But due to the busy schedule of BJP state leaders, it was postponed. On October 16, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar will inaugurate the Parivarthana Samavesha at 3:00 pm in Brahmavar. Udupi – Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje, former deputy chief minister R Ashok, Mangaluru MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA’s Kota Srinivas Poojary, V Sunil Kumar, Captain Ganesh Karnik, former MP J P Hegde, former MLA’s K Raghupathi Bhat, Lalaji R Mendon, Laxminarayana and other BJP leaders will take part in the Parivarthana Samavesha”.

Mattar Rathnakar Hegde further said, “In what is being seen as an election campaign in advance, the principal Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided to launch a Statewide ‘Parivarthana’ (transformation) yatra, from November 2. National president Amit Shah will be inaugurating the Yatra at Nelamangala on November 2. Under the leadership of Yeddyurappa, the yatra will be held in all the 224 Assembly constituencies targetting Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the alleged corruption in his government. The yatra will pass through Udupi district on November 11 and 12. From Udupi district 4000 activists will be taking part in the inaugural ceremony”, he said.

“The state government’s Mathru Poorna scheme, which was launched on October 2 with the aim to serve nutritious food to pregnant women and lactating mothers, is a total failure and is unscientific in nature. The scheme is unscientific in many ways. It will harm the beneficiaries due to lack of hygiene and safety. The government should provide money, instead of serving food”, he said.

“AICC General Secretary and Karnataka in-charge of the party; KC Venugopal is facing the sexual harassment and solar scam case. It is said that Kerala CPM leaders are all set to file a criminal case against Venugopal. How will the Karnataka Congress leaders justify the leadership of Venugopal in leading the team? The party High command should change Karnataka in-charge and appoint a new person with a clean image”, he demanded.
