44-year-old Woman Killed as Jeep falls from Bridge at Mundkur
Karkala: A woman was killed on the spot and 3 others escaped with minor injuries when a Bolero Jeep fell from a bridge at Sankalakariya near Mundkur under the Karkala Taluk on Saturday, January 12.
The deceased has been identified as Diana Mascarenhas (44) Three others injured are identified as Stany Mascarenhas (48), Sheldon (19) and Arman (19).
According to primary reports the Bolero jeep carrying 4 persons was on its way to Mangaluru to attend a family marriage function, the driver of the Bolero in order to avoid hitting a Tipper coming from the Opposite direction suddenly steered the vehicle to the left, in the process lost control and fell down from the bridge into the river. Diana who was wearing the seat belt, unable to get out of the vehicle died on the spot.
The Mulki and Karkala Rural Police are investigating the case.
